The objective of this position is to execute service based projects with high throughput cloning and cell line generation activities that use cutting-edge cloning and genomic engineering techniques from the Thermo Fisher Scientific Portfolio. The scientist will be expected to lead projects independently and work with junior scientists in a collaborative team environment.
The successful candidate will directly interact with senior Research and Development leadership, project management and other collaborators produce effective work plans. These activities may require a high level of independence and ability to work in a highly cooperative team in the following tasks.
Molecular biology; like plasmid cloning and subcloning, DNA preparation and sequencing, in vitro transcription of RNA and packaging of lentivirus, PCR etc. Tissue cultures and stable cell line generation and genomic editing etc.
A minimum academic requirement of the candidate is to have a Ph.D. degree in life sciences or a candidate with a bachelor’s degree plus seven years of industrial experience or master’s degree plus 5 years of industrial experience. However, other qualifications include the capability of Performing standard laboratory math calculations and solution preparations, an experience of manipulating DNA plasmid constructs and various forms of PCR, proven experience in protein analysis and sterile tissue culture techniques, experience in automation of DNA cloning etc.
Other experience required: 1-5 years of experience in stable cell line generation, automation for liquid handling and cloning, molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA) and some experience with LIMS or Bioinformatics.
